Shell Beach, Louisiana

Shell Beach, Louisiana is located on the Mississippi River – Gulf Outlet Canal (aka the MRGO, pronounced Mr. Go) near Lake Borgne, approximately 30 miles southeast of New Orleans. Even though her name has “beach” in it, this isn’t where you come to lounge in the sand. Rather, Shell Beach is where you come to get your limit of fish and unplug in South Louisiana’s marsh. The brackish waters are home to trout and redfish —you will probably see a gator as well. It is Louisiana’s best kept secret. Why? Because Shell Beach has the BEST INSHORE FISHING IN THE COUNTRY.

While visiting us, you can purchase fresh oysters, shrimp and crabs straight off the boat. And, the locals down here are a little different—you will see more pelicans, seagulls, blue herons, rosetta spoonbills than you do people.

The I’m on Vacation Shell Beach Retreat is just .3 miles from Campo’s Marina. At Campo’s you can use their boat launch for a $10 fee, get fresh bait and fuel up before heading out. Or, if you are looking for a guided charter fishing trip, you can book with Captain Bradley. We have a network of guides located at the docks directly across the street so we can line your larger crew up with multiple boats. The sky [and fish] are the limit!

Grab your reels, an ice chest, your favorite outdoorsman (or woman), and come on. The bite is on.
